In ancient times, three goddesses ruled the dark forests of the world. Mother, maiden, and crone, keepers of secrets, and bringers of night. These chaotic goddesses of the old times were both feared and revered. People left offerings of blood and bone and precious items for them, hoping they would grant favors, although, if given, these came with dire consequences more often than not.
